Longarm Services
Preparing a quilt for longarm quilting will set result in the best possible finish!
Quilt Top Preparation
Press all seams so they lay flat.
Trim dark threads that may peak through.
If the quilt top edges have fabric cut on the bias, a straight "stay" stitch around the edge of the quilt can help stabilize.
If the quilt top has a "top" or "bottom" direction, that should be noted.
Quilt Back Preparation
The quilt backing fabric must be 8 inches wider and longer than the quilt top to allow for pinning to the longarm machine.
If the quilt back has a "top" or "bottom" direction, that should be noted.
If sending fabric for me to piece together, and you would like the pattern to be matched accross the seam, send at least an additional 1/3 to 1/2 yard, depending on the size of the pattern (larger patterns need more overlap). There is an additional cost for this service.
Batting
Batting should also be at least 8 inches wider and longer than the quilt top.
Batting is available to purchase. I have Quilter's Dream bamboo and wool blends.Â
Thread
I use Glide thread and have many colors available. We will work together to find the right one for your quilt top.
